Huxleigh is just a few doors down from the award winning Grove Inn, winner of the South West Dining Pub of the year in 2008. Devon and particularly North Devon has an outstanding richenss of food and drink. Where better to start your tour than Huxleigh Cottage and the Grove Inn.

There are many local pubs and restaurants in the area including the Masons Arms at Knowstone, the London Inn at Molland, the Exeter Inn at Chittlehamhalt and many more.

But if you prefer to stay at home and cook your own food, why not try out some local produce by going to the pannier market in South Molton on a Saturday morning. It is a real experience! Or the shops in South Molton have a great assortment of produce for you to sample.

Andrew Govier's Eggs - Andrew and Vickie Govier produce excellent free range eggs, which can either be purchased in in the pub or go for the double yolkers by nipping down the Hummacott farm and putting some money in the honesty box.

Catch Your Own Supper: Or maybe you prefer to catch or shoot your own! Try your hand at trout and salmon fishing by heading down the hill to the Fox and Hounds at Eggersford where they will issue day tickets on the river (but you will need a rod licence) The hotel has 5 miles of the Taw and Little Dart divided into five beats with a maximum of two rods per beat. They offer a ghillie service and tuition.  Rods and waders can be hired. There is an excellent stock of hand tied flies at the hotel. Licenses available at the hotel. Clovelly Saltwater Flyfishing offers some of the most exciting bass fishing to be had on the fly in British waters. The North Devon coastline, wild and rocky, is ideally suited for large bass.
